A California ruling cleared the way for Jewish students and parents to bring civil-rights claims against school districts adopting ethnic-studies materials alleged to contain antisemitic narratives. The decision arose from litigation brought by The Deborah Project challenging curriculum in Berkeley schools.

The students and their families moved out of the district after facing verbal abuse in person and on social media.

Families allege the Philadelphia school district worsened harassment against Jewish students after a conflict over access to a school prayer space. The federal lawsuit claims officials failed to protect students and violated constitutional protections.
